Pep won't be happy!

football betting tips -
Premier League: Manchester City- Manchester United

This feels like a massive week for Pep Guardiola and City, they have already lost twice and now have the Manchester derby, followed by a visit from Napoli in the Champions League and next weekend they travel to the Emirates to play Arsenal, who will have had two extra days rest, hands up anyone who thinks that Pep will mention that and their schedule in interview before Sunday ?

I think you all know where I stand with United and defeats to Grimsby Town (on penalties) , Arsenal, a draw with Fulham and a very hard earned 3-2 win over Burnley have not done much to change my mind, just before the campaign started I updated my preseason notes with .....

If Bryan, Cunha and Sesko gel (or maybe even two of them) then United will improve, but they need to do so by circa 18 points just to reach that 8th place level of 2023/24 and they were not very good that season! They are a massive, massive club, but one that has been poorly run and are still only in the early days of transition and I have doubts about Ruben Almorim being the right man for the job. They have also conceded 54-57 goals in three of the last four seasons and it seems like they are not allowed to sign any more defenders, the only addition at the back so far is a 18yo from Paraguay for a small fee. The jury is out on almost all the defenders they signed 12 months ago (circa 200m €) at least in this rigid Almorim formation and they should have conceded an additional 6-7 goals last season.  They will improve I feel and no European football for the first time since 2014-15 and only second time in 35 years will help. But 8th feels about right.

They have opted for Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro in the middle/holding roles and neither has the steel or athleticism to play there and they are in front of a back three (Amorim can ONLY set up 3-4-3 and puts some square pegs in round holes at times in order to play that way. ) who look leaden and with goalkeeper issues behind them! They are going to need two goals to beat anyone. However, they might have scored twice in all four games and their xG of 7.0 in EPL starts is eye-catching and top 2 and they had 12 attempts, 10 ITB in one half against Arsenal. The visitors have also scored in their last 10 h2h games with City played away from Old Trafford, 16 goals total, including a 2-1 win here at the Etihad just before Christmas.

2 units Manchester United to score "over" 1.5 goals @ 2.91 asian line.

Good luck!
