Bundesliga: TSG Hoffenheim - Bayer Leverkusen
Both teams played on Thursday night, Leverkusen in Crete, Hoffenheim at home to Lyon. That is advantage to the host in terms of no travel, but Bayer are more used to playing in Europe and OFI Crete are weaker opposition and the weather on the island is good, warm, late summer conditions and the visitors will probably approach it like a mini midseason break from wet and dark Germany. The losses of Promel ( see Stuttgart notes). Tabakovic and Nsoki robs them of experience in a very young group that is returning to Europe. XP gave them 54 points last season, which is the level they played at over the final 10 games, add in the sales and European football and it feels like mid table awaits.
They have lost 4 of 6 league games conceding 14 goals and traditionally struggle in this fixture, with BL winning on 4 of 5 visits and scoring 3+ goals in each victory.

Hoffenheim are not seeing out games well, they have a joint high 13 points before the break, just three and winless after.
Leverkusen are the best SH team in the Bundesliga with 15 points after the break.
