It feels a good time to revisit it, as Bryan is coming off a 20 goal EPL season and is about to make a £71m move to Manchester United, who, for all their many, many (many) woes, remain one of the biggest clubs in world football. Bryan is not only a fantastic footballer but a lovely (gentle)man, ask anyone who has ever met him and he deserves this move and everyone at Brentford wishes him well. He is probably my all time favourite Bees player and I never thought anyone would replace Jackie Graham in my affections,no, I know you haven't heard of him! The deal also says so much about how Brentford is run as a club and how they operate in the transfer markets, signing Bryan for circa £5m as a teenager and developing him into the player he became. When he arrived he was painfully shy had never played for a club more than an hour from where he was born and raised and barely spoke a word of English. In transfer deals the Bees always play with a straight bat, never use social media to push their agenda and any news of players arriving or departing never comes from their end until the deal is done and dusted. They do have their valuation for a player and will not be bullied from that, regadless of who comes a calling and that upsets some people who don't seem to quibble when asked to pay x or y for goods in a shop, that is the price, pay it or walk away!
