In addition to the three full match previews for subscribers yesterday, one of which you can read in the previous post ( Earthquakes won 1-0 BTW) , I wrote a few lines about just one other game.....

Rapids did us a big favour with that 5-1 demolition of Seattle Sounders on Saturday, ahead of which I wrote ..."You know that I am a Seattle "fan" and have tipped them up as likely Supporters Shield winners for many weeks and I have been on the money there, but I feel they might lose this evening. They have two games in hand of many teams and they might just be more focused on two big West Coast match ups over the next seven days against Vancouver and Portland.

Absolutely no love lost between these two clubs and this is far and away the hottest derby in French football. The hosts would love to win this, three points would take them up above the Parisians and into second place, but they just look a level below both PSG and Monaco and although most teams will come away pointless from Dortmund, the level and manner of the 3-0 midweek defeat and earlier home loss to Arsenal, is a clear indication of where they stand in the bigger European picture.

I have previewed a lot of matches today, three each from Brazil and the Champions League and we also got involved in the first AFC Champions League game today, where we managed to start the day off with a decent profit.

Champions League :Manchester City-Bayern Munich

I have sent subscribers to the newsletter service three English football previews for this afternoon and one La Liga selection, which you can read below. It is not lunchtime yet in my part of the world, but we are already 2 from 2 on the day, with a couple of J-League winners at odds of 2.24 and 2.62 in notes which were sent out Friday afternoon.

Inter will go second with a win and look to be heading back in the right direction under the leadership of Walter Mazzari ( who, contrary to popular belief, is not one of the 27 Baldwin brothers). They have been greatly helped by an easy schedule, but their four wins have come by a combined 16-0, including a 7-0 road win at Sassuolo last weekend and the draw came against champions Juventus, so things could hardly have gone better, especially as they ended last season with just five wins from 22 starts. Mazzari chose the Sassuolo fixture to re-introduce Diego Milito, who played for 37 minutes and scored twice and also contributed an assist, in a 37 minute appearance and I suspect that was as pleasing as the actual result for the club. The former Napoli boss spent heavily on some young and promisng domestic talent in the summer , but is not rushing to introduce them into the starting eleven and we might see the best of Icardi, Belfodil and Taider next season, having said that , all three are in the squad tonight, along with Milito. The real improvement has co me from the existing experienced players and Mazzari has got far more out of them (especially Alvarez, Jonathan and Nagatomo), than his predecessor.Rodrigo Palacio has continued scoring goals and the increased competition from Milito will help both him and Inter.
