Champions League: the gift that keeps on giving!

Unbelievable scenes in the Champions League with the finishes in the games in Bilbao and especially Lisbon (Benfica). The six EPL teams taking part filled five of the top eight places, so will have at least 31.25% of the final 16, the other, Newcastle United, finished 12th. The really strange thing is that it doesn't feel like a classic Premier League class of 25/26 (Arsenal aside), having said that, every game is competitive, you cannot beat any other EPL side whilst going through the motions and that serves you well in Europe. Some big names will have the two extra games including PSG (but it didn't harm them last season), Real Madrid and Inter Milan at least one of whom have been in the last four finals. Actually all three missed out last season and each went on to make the quarter finals, with PSG and Inter meeting in the final. The draw for the knockout stage play-offs will be made tomorrow (30th).
