Son and Bouanga setting MLS records!
Sep 28, 2025

The two strongest clubgowi football bets (2.5 units+) for this weekend both won, with Brighton beating Chelsea 3-1 and LAFC winning 3-0 at St Louis City, see below. Son and Bouanga have now combined for LAFC's last 17 goals!
Obviously, the two games below will not be included in the FTV results,
EPL:Chelsea - Brighton
Chelsea conceded seven goals to Brentford (2) , Bayern Munich (3) and Manchester United (2) last week, losing all three games on xG. They also played the latter for 90+ minutes with 10 men after goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was sent off just four minutes into the game, BTW, I saw one media outlet gave Sanchez 4/10 for his performance, so he must have been good in the warm up! The keeper served his one game ban in the League Cup at Lincoln City in midweek where Chelsea returned to winning ways, but gave up 4 BC's and 37 TIPA's to the League 1 side. Of course Chelsea rotated, but you could pick any of their starting 11 and they would probably be worth more than the entire City squad and it was another suspect defensive showing.
Brighton usually play bravely and are scoring for fun at the moment, with 17 goals in their last five starts and they have scored 2+ in 3 of 4 trips to Stamford Bridge and we have backed them to do so in at least two of those and possibly all three, sorry, I cannot be motivated to check! This feels like a good time for them to travel to West London and it should be an entertaining watch.
2.5 units Brighton to score "over" 1.5 goals @ 2.91 asian line.
MLS: St Louis City-LAFC
Ahead of LAFC's last away game at RSL I highlighted their expected numbers and how well their top scorer and new superstar signing were playing ....
LAFC got a fine 4-2 win in San Jose over the weekend ahead of that I had started my notes with ....
Yet another of those West Coast derby games that so often produce goals and LAFC certainly know their way to San Jose, but tend to get a little lost once they arrive! With Earthquakes scoring 2+ goals in the last six meetings as host and in all games between the two, both teams have scored in an eye-catching 16 of 17 starts.
We got the desired two goals from SJE, but it was definitely LA who impressed and they started the game in high energy mode. With Son Heung-min leading the way, with a goal inside the opening minute, Denis Bouanga adding a couple shortly after and finishing with a hat-trick, which leaves him third in the Golden Boot race and he will be looking to close in on the top 2 this evening. Son is still too good for MLS and in 379 minutes of play, he has scored twice, with an assist, nine attempts on target and 14 key passes. LA have a decent record in Sandy, which is at altitude and not everyone likes it, winning on 7 of 9 visits, but did lose 3-0 here last season. RSL are the lowest scorers in the Conference and sit outside the playoffs having lost six home games and do not look ideally suited going all out for the win, which they have to do, against a top team with a superstar at , or at least near, his best. Expected numbers suggest that LA are the best team in the West and that they should have collected 6 more points and conceded 7 fewer goals.
LA won that 4-1 win Son scoring a hat-trick and Bouanga added another, they have played once subsequently, a reverse meeting with Real in the City of Angels and it was much the same with LA winning by the same scoreline, but this time Bounanga scored the hat-trick and Son the other! Bouanga is up to second, two behind Messi in the Golden Boot race and Son has a goal contribution every 61 minutes played. LAFC won this fixture 2-0 last season, look much better now and should have enough quality for a repeat, despite SLC (who will miss out on the postseason) coming into this having recorded back to back road wins.
2.5 units LAFC -0.5 ball @ 2.02 asian line.
Good luck!
